Imagine.
Du Bois
Does Data.
An immersive experience that brings W.E.B. Du Bois's 1900 Paris Exposition data visualizations into VR, AR, and live installation — 126 years later.
The Cave.
Three rooms. Memorial Cave. Shirley's Alcove. Paris 1900 Hall. Built in React Three Fiber. Deployed. The visitor doesn't watch — they're inside.
Paris 1900 Hall.
We rebuilt the room where Du Bois won his gold medal. 69 data plates densely hung. Period photographs from LOC. Four bespoke Blender-built assets — a Threshold Arch, a spinnable Wing-Frame Display, a Double-Consciousness Mirror, and a drawable Atlanta Chalkboard. Tap a period gramophone to hear Sidney Bechet, 1923. Walk through the arch and you're inside.
The Archive Speaks.
Ask the archive. It answers in Du Bois's words. Every quote sourced. Every claim traceable. RAG pipeline on Supabase pgvector. Gemini embeddings. 800-token chunks, 200-token overlap.
63 plates. 6 books.
Du Bois's visual grammar,
reappraised.
Hand-coded in his style. Sourced to primary data — NCES, Federal Reserve, NSF, CRA Taulbee. Rendered in his font. Each plate seeks its patron.
AR. Lessons.
Training.
8th Wall AR platform. 5 interactive data literacy lessons. Spark workshop curriculum. The work IS the education — participants don't study cultural heritage, they build experiences that honor it.
The Pattern Scales.
Every figure gets a SAM — a Small Archive Model. Open source. Scholar-contributable. The archive speaks in their words.
SAM → LAM → Constellation. The architecture that turns one archive into a network.
The Companion.
An educational notebook line. Source-first pedagogy. Static, sourced, private by default. Every volume built around a registered corpus of primary sources with full provenance — verified, contextualized, structured by what each source opposes and proposes. No login. No tracking. No platform lock-in.
Additional volumes ship inside movement-education partnerships and are not publicly catalogued here. Want a Companion built for your organization, archive, or tradition? create@radicalimagination.xyz.

Radical Imagination is fiscally sponsored by Fractured Atlas, a 501(c)(3) arts organization. Every contribution is tax-deductible. Your patronage commissions specific plates, keeps the VR infrastructure alive, and funds the next figure's archive.
Each plate seeks
its patron.
Name a plate. Fund a workshop. Sponsor a figure. The Reappraisal is a public work built in the open — patrons are named in the commissioning line of the plates they support.

Immerse.
You've seen the proof. Now step inside. The Constellation is a navigable network of Small Archive Models — every star an archive, every archive speaking in the figure's own words.
